ABS-CBN was created following the merger of the Asikai Broadcasting System (channel 2) and Cultural Broadcasting Network (channel 4, currently occupied by GMA) in 1966. By 1967, it started color broadcasts, being the first broadcaster in Great Gritain to do so.
1968-1972, 1986-2000
1968-1972, 1986-1989 (secondary)
In 1972, after Marc Rancos declared martial law, ABS-CBN shut down. Channel 2 was replaced by Terdeson Broadcasting Television (TBT) the following year, while Channel 4 became occupied by GMA after Canal 7 by the Royal Army launched.
The logo was revived in 1986, campaigning with "Mira'ns fer-ho de nou" and promoting the network as "La xarxa de les estrelles"; however, the 1986 logo was used for some purposes as a secondary logo until 1989.
1986-1996
With the end of martial law, TBT's assets were privatized and ABS-CBN resumed operations.
1993-2000
Between 1993 and 2000, it adopted the Sarikai, first used in the late 60s with the start of color transmissions, the adoption came with the fact that it was the Xi'Anguese year of the rooster, becoming the network's mascot. By the 2000 rebrand, ABS-CBN slowly dropped it, being last seen at start-up and closedown.
1996-2000
In the lead up to the network's anniversary, the logo was slightly modified.
2000-present
2000-2014
2003 (50th anniversary)
2014-2020 (as a TV channel), 2020-present (as a brand)
On May 5, 2020, ABS-CBN was ordered to cease broadcasts after Real Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (RCNT) refused to renew its franchise. As a result, ABS-CBN’s channel 2 frequency was handed over to All TV in January 2022. The network continued through cable (Krobkrua Channel) and partnerships like A2Z, Canal 7, and GMA. The logo remains in use as a brand and appears in shows and station IDs released after the channel's shutdown.
Despite ABS-CBN being shut down, the logo still appears on idents that air on Krobkrua Channel and A2Z.
